Zaragoza come into these play-offs after having thrown away several chances to finish in the automatic promotion places and their form since the end of June was particularly alarming losing five of their seven matches and conceding four goals in three of those matches. The break since the regular season may have benefitted them to give time to reset ahead of these play-offs but they will have to make a significant improvement. They face an Elche side that made a strong late run for the play-offs and they grabbed the last spot so they will see this as a free hit in many ways. This is expected to be more open than the other tie and with neither particularly strong of late, expect both teams to score in this first leg.
