THE PREDICTION
Austria’s inconsistent qualifying campaign continued in frustrating
fashion as they were on the end of a heavy loss to Israel at the
weekend. They were unable to build on their win over Moldova in their
previous outing which saw them continue their trend of failing to back
up a success in Group F. They will at least hope to respond here as they
host Scotland, a side also struggling for a consistent run of results.
After they were outclassed by Denmark last week, the Scots were able to
bounce back with a narrow success over Moldova to stay right in
contention for second spot with first place seemingly looking secure for
the Danes. There is little to separate this pair but with Austria
losing just one of their last seven matches on home soil, the hosts
should be able to come out on top here.
