THE LOWDOWN

WATFORD

  • With nine points currently separating them from 17th-placed Burnley, Watford are surely consigned to the drop having now lost each of their last four Premier League games, conceding 12 goals in the process.
  • Both central midfielder Kucka and right-back Kiko are available again but a calf injury renders Francisco Sierralta extremely doubtful to play against Burnley.

BURNLEY

  • The Burnley great escape continues to gather pace after a narrow 1-0 triumph over Wolves took them out of the relegation places at Everton’s expense with the Clarets having not picked up seven points from the last nine available to them since Sean Dyche’s departure.
  • Both Maxwel Cornet and Jay Rodriguez face late fitness tests ahead of this one and Mike Jackson will be desperately hoping that at one will play able to play from the start in this one, particularly Rodriguez who started against Wolves.

THE TEAM NEWS

WATFORD

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Foster; Ngakia, Kabasele, Samir, Kamara; Sissoko, Louza, Kucka; Sarr, King, Dennis

UNAVAILABLE: Cucho (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Baah (Injured), Kalu (Injured), Sierralta (Injured)

BURNLEY

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Pope; Roberts, Collins, Tarkowski, Taylor; McNeil, Cork, Brownhill, Rodriguez; Weghorst, Rodriguez

UNAVAILABLE: Mee (Injured), Pieters (Injured), Westwood (Injured), Gudmundsson (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Cornet (Injured), Rodriguez (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

All the momentum is in Burnley’s favour as they head to Vicarage Road, but that 2-0 defeat against Norwich a few weeks back should serve as a stark reminder that they are not guaranteed three points here. Watford though, are defensively a shambles and it’s difficult to see them keeping a clean sheet. Combine that with Burnley’s grit, determination and recent ability to find the net, having scored at least once in each of their last three games and the Clarets have to be favoured to gain at least a point here, if not all three via the double chance market.

Tip: BURNLEY WIN/DRAW DOUBLE CHANCE
