THE LOWDOWN
LUTON
Luton have made the worst possible start to their Premier League campaign with their defeat to Fulham last weekend making them the first side to lose their opening four Premier League games since Swindon in the 1993-94 season.
The Hatters had plenty of chances to get something from the game against Fulham though, with wastefulness in front of goal costing them. They were duly punished when Cottagers striker Carlos Vinicius found the net in the second half, and so Luton's wait for a point goes on.
WOLVES
Wolves suffered defeat for the fourth time in five Premier League games last weekend but the manner of their defeat to Liverpool does not tell the full story of the encounter as Gary O'Neil's side could potentially have been out of sight by half-time.
The midlands side made an excellent start to the contest and went ahead when Hwang Hee-chan slotted home inside the first ten minutes, and had they converted numerous chances they had after that, the outcome could have been very different. As it was, Liverpool rallied in the second half as first Cody Gakpo and then Andy Robertson scored for the Reds, before Hugo Bueno diverted the ball into his own net in injury-time.
THE TEAM NEWS
LUTON
Despite returning to training after a hamstring complaint, Ross Barkley will almost certainly miss the trip to the midlands with Rob Edwards stating that he is being prepared for the meeting with Everton next weekend.
Otherwise, Gabriel Osho, Dan Potts and Jordan Clark will be absent once more.
PREDICTED XI (5-3-2): Kaminski; Kabore, Burke, Lockyer, Andersen, Bell; Lokonga, Nakamba, Chong; Adebayo, Morris
UNAVAILABLE: Osho (Injured), Potts (Injured), Clark (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Barkley (Injured)
WOLVES
Rayan Ait-Nouri, who came off with an apparent injury last weekend, was not namechecked by O'Neil in his pre-match press conference so the left-back is likely to be fit to start against Luton. Fellow full-back Hugo Bueno is on standby if needed.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde impressed against Liverpool and seems likely to keep his place, while Joe Hodge has returned to training following a hamstring injury.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Sa; Semedo, Dawson, Kilman, Ait-Nouri; Gomes, Lemina; Hwang, Bellegarde, Neto; Cunha
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Ait-Nouri (Injured), Hodge (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
Wolves may only be three points better off than Luton at this stage of the season, but it is inarguable that their performance levels have been higher than that of the promoted club. Luton are learning the hard way how difficult it is to compete in the Premier League, and they are simply lacking quality in all areas of the pitch. Rob Edwards will be targeting this fixture as one in which his team can finally get off the mark, but an away win seems likelier if Wolves apply themselves in the same way that they did against Liverpool last week.
TIP: WOLVES TO WIN
