Fiorentina preview: Dramatically bad start

In their opening 15 matches of the 2025/26 Serie A season, Fiorentina sit rock-bottom with no victory thus far, having shared six draws and suffered nine defeats with the fallen giants of I Viola now eight points adrift of safety in Serie A.

Even with Paolo Vanoli replacing Stefano Pioli at the Artemio Franchi, Fiorentina have not improved as they come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss to Lausanne Sport in the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League the other day.

Udinese preview: Mid-table Friulians

Udinese begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top-half of the table after a steady start to the campaign in which they have managed six victories with two draws and six defeats.

The Friulians have found some form of late, with two wins in their last three matches, as they come into this one on the back of a defeat of defending champions Napoli at the Bluenergy Stadium with a 73rd minute Jurgen Ekkelenkamp winner.

Fiorentina vs Udinese prediction

Fiorentina were in more or less a do or die situation last year. I Viola have to win at some stage, surely, but they even lost 2-1 to a similarly poor and struggling Hellas Verona side in Florence. Udinese have been a bit Jekyll and Hyde under the management of Kosta Runjaic, and they are expected to play on the front foot at the Artemio Franchi, and siding with Udinese would appear the way to go for this one in Tuscany.

Fiorentina vs Udinese tip: Double chance – Udinese to win or draw
