It’s been a nightmare start to the campaign for Fiorentina, who are still without victory after five Serie A matches. A goalless draw away at lowly Pisa arrested a run of consecutive losses, but the hosts have found the net just three times all season in the league, which hardly bodes well when coming up against a team led by Gian Piero Gasperini.
Whilst Roma have not yet unlocked the offensive verve that made Gasperini’s Atalanta sides so captivating to watch, they’ve been rock-solid defensively and the signs are promising. The visitors have given up just one goal so far this season and confidence is high following four wins from five games. With the players at Gasperini’s disposal, they should be able to capitalise on their opponents’ deficiencies and gain three points here.
