Fiorentina managed to back up a vitally important 2-1 defeat of Como away from home last weekend by dispatching of Jagiellonia Bialystok by three goals to nil in the first-leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League knockout playoff round tie in midweek, albeit they remain in the bottom three and the relegation places in Serie A.

They now face a Pisa side that, under the management of Alberto Gilardino, have been competitive and resilient quite often this season but have managed just one win all season. That means they begin this match day sitting nine points adrift of 17th placed Lecce.

Fiorentina have been some way off a good side but they have improved in recent months and this is another brilliant opportunity to close the gap towards safety.
