Finland vs Canada prediction
Key for both of these two squads will be to avoid any injuries heading into the next round, particularly in the case of Canada, who are already sweating over the fitness of skipper Marie-Philip Poulin. ‘Captain Clutch’ did not feature in Canada’s 5-0 defeat at the hands of USA after sustaining a lower body injury from hard hit against Czechia. It’s almost certain that she won’t play any part in this one either.
With that in mind, this could prove an opportunity for Finland to cause a big upset. Canada will obviously have their eyes on the bigger prize, retaining their Olympic gold medal and could well rest more of their star players. Whilst the Canadian depth is deep, Finland impressed against Switzerland last time out and you feel a result here may mean more to them than their opponents. Therefore, it’s worth at least considering a small stake in Finland to win. Either way, expect over 5.5 goals.
Finland vs Canada tip: Over 5.5 total goals
