Fenerbahce vs Anderlecht Prediction

Jose Mourinho has overseen a regression in charge of Fenerbahce this season but they remain just about in the Turkish Super Lig title race ahead of facing a fairly bizarre Anderlecht side.

The home team do come into this one on the back of a comfortable victory as they defeated Alanyaspor by two goals to nil at the weekend thanks to goals from Sebastian Szymanski and Talisca. That means Fener are now unbeaten in 12 matches across all competitions since losing to Athletic Club in mid-December.

The reason for describing Anderlecht as ‘bizarre’ would be because their UEFA Europa League form had been excellent, albeit missing out on a top eight finish in the final match day of the league phase, but underwhelming domestically. They currently sit fourth in the Belgian top-flight with their win over Antwerp at the weekend just their second victory in six matches.

Fenerbahce have home advantage and Jose Mourinho will believe he has a squad that has sufficient quality and experience to go relatively deep into the UEFA Europa League. Given their form, siding with the Turkish giants looks the way to go for this first-leg.

Fenerbahce vs Anderlecht Tip: Double chance – Fenerbahce to win or draw
