Empoli Preview: Struggling Empoli

Roberto D’Aversa began his Empoli reign well at the start of this season but the Florence-based outfit have struggled throughout the last few months as they head into the final few games of the 2024/25 Serie A campaign sitting tucked inside the bottom three and the danger zone.

The home team come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss to Lazio at Stadio Carlo Castellani in their most recent outing last weekend with Boulaye Dia scoring in the opening minute of the match before both teams down to ten men.

Parma Preview: Solid Parma

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Parma have been much-improved throughout the campaign before Fabio Pecchia was sacked a couple of months ago due to an underwhelming campaign and he was replaced by former Parma defender Cristian Chivu.

The former Internazionale and Romania international has produced an impressive Parma side in terms of their defensive solidity but they do come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss at home to Como due to a Gabriel Strefezza winner at the Ennio Tardini.

Empoli Team News: Colombo suspended

Empoli’s game against Lazio that featured a red card for both sides involved Lorenzo Colombo being sent off for Empoli and they are now missing through suspension for this one with several players such as Szymon Zurkowski and Christian Kouame are sidelined through injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Devis Vasquez; Goglichidze, Ismajli, Viti; Gyasi, Marianucci, Fazzini, Pezzella; Solbakken, Cacace; Campaniello

Unavailable: Sazonov (Injured), Maleh (Injured), Haas (Injured), Zurkowski (Injured), Kouame (Injured), Pellegri (Injured), Colombo (Suspended)

Questionable: Ebuehi (Injured), Kovalenko (Injured), Anjorin (Injured), Esposito (Injured)

Parma Team News: Loads of injuries

Parma have been dealing with loads of injury issues ahead of the visit to Florence this weekend and Romania international winger Valentin Mihaila also remains a doubt alongside fellow attackers Matteo Cancellieri and Pontus Almqvist.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Suzuki; Del Prato, Leoni, Valenti; Hainaut, Sohm, Keita, Ondrejka, Valeri; Bonny, Mateo Pellegrino

Unavailable: Yordan Osorio (Injured), Vogliacco (Injured), Nahuel Estevez (Injured), Adrian Bernabe (Injured), Charpentier (Injured), Kowalski (Injured)

Questionable: Mihaila (Injured), Cancellieri (Injured), Almqvist (Injured)

Empoli vs Parma Prediction

Empoli were unbeaten in their opening six games of the campaign, collecting ten points. That means that since then they have collected just 15 points from 29 matches and have won just two of those 29 games. They face a Parma side that have made themselves difficult to beat and were unfortunate to lose to Como last weekend with an expected goals average of well over two for that game. A double chance bet in favour of the visitors as they seek to secure their Serie A status for next season seems safe.

Empoli vs Parma Tip: Double chance – Parma to win or draw
