Empoli have endured a miserable few months in Serie A as they battle against relegation ahead of now taking on a Bologna side that have been rampant in their form in the last few months.

Empoli vs Bologna Prediction

The start of the campaign was quite impressive for Empoli but they have endured a terrible time of it under Roberto D’Aversa as they sit in the bottom three and the relegation places. The Florence-based club did manage to defeat Juventus on penalties in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia in Turin in late-February.

They now face a Bologna side that, under the management of Vincenzo Italiano, have, very surprisingly, been even better than they were last season despite finishing fifth and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League last year. They most recently edged past Venezia by a goal to nil in Venice at the weekend to remain in the top four.

Empoli have taken advantage of a poor Juve side to reach this stage but Bologna’s fairly heroic campaign is expected to continue by taking a step to the final of the cup this week in the first-leg of this semi-final.

Empoli vs Bologna Tip: Bologna to win
