Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Riera at the wheel
Eintracht Frankfurt announced on Friday that they had chosen Albert Riera as their new head coach, replacing Dino Toppmoller. However, Riera won’t officially join the club until Monday, meaning that interim boss Dennis Schmitt will remain in temporary charge for one more game.
Schmitt is yet to oversee a victory for Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. The team have failed to win any of their last five games in the league and are coming off the back of three straight defeats across all competitions.
Bayer Leverkusen preview: Big week for Hjulmand
Kasper Hjulmand must be absolutely delighted with what he’s seen from his Bayer Leverkusen side over the past week. After edging past Werder Bremen by a goal to nil last weekend at the BayArena, Leverkusen were back at home midweek for a crucial Champions League match against Villarreal.
With victory required, a dominant performance saw Leverkusen triumph 3-0 with a brace from Malik Tillman followed up by yet another Alejandro Grimaldo goal. The win sent Hjulmand’s men through to the knockout play-offs and made it two wins in a row without conceding a goal.

Bayer Leverkusen team news: Blaswich should keep place

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayer Leverkusen prediction
Eintracht Frankfurt’s players will no doubt be hoping to impress their new head coach ahead of his arrival, but confidence must be low and they continue to ship goals at a ridiculously alarming rate. Each of their last four Bundesliga fixtures have seen Frankfurt give up three goals and they boast the joint-worst backline in the league, with no team having conceded more than their 42 goals so far.
This is a big chance for Bayer Leverkusen to really show they are back in the mix for a top four finish. Defensively they’ve been excellent of late and scoring shouldn’t be an issue for them against this opponent. Back them via the double chance market to gain at least a point in Frankfurt, if not all three.
