Egypt vs South Africa prediction

After featuring for Egypt in their AFCON qualifier against Angola, Mohamed Salah won’t play any part of this friendly, which has a big impact when taking into account the quality that Salah provides, not to mention his penchant for goals and assists. Rumours of a rift between Salah and Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan have been rife following his reaction to being subbed off early vs Angola, which was followed by him not playing at all against South Sudan.

Egypt played extremely well without Salah, defeating South Sudan 5-0, but South Africa should provide far sterner opposition. Bafana Bafana have made the perfect start to a new era post Hugo Broos, beating both Guinea and Eritrea under new boss Pitso Mosimane. They are more than capable of stifling an Egyptian side minus Salah, so back them to avoid defeat at the very least.

Egypt vs South Africa tip: Double chance - draw/South Africa
