Having gained promotion to the third-tier last season, Doncaster Rovers will believe they have more than enough to be competitive in League One as they take on Exeter City.

Doncaster vs Exeter prediction

Doncaster Rovers enjoyed an extremely impressive League Two campaign under the management of former Hull City and Peterborough United boss Grant McCann, who led the South Yorkshire outfit to the fourth-tier title. They have lost a couple of key players, such as loanee Rob Street, but they remain in a good position for this season.

They now face an Exeter City side that appear to have been circling the drain for a while now, and there will be concerns that the supporter-owned Grecians could slip through the cracks in League One this year. They lost lots of key players last summer and have been a bit steadier this year, but standing still may well be moving backwards.

Doncaster have the newly-promoted bounce and are also playing with home advantage against a team that could struggle this season, so Doncaster are slight favourites.
