Doncaster vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Grant McCann has cultivated an impressive style of football with a deep squad as they chase promotion this season up against a Crystal Palace side who could well prioritise the cup.

Despite their impressive campaign so far, Doncaster Rovers come into this one on the back of a humbling 5-2 defeat to Chesterfield on Thursday in a game McCann has said must be a ‘learning curve’ for his squad. Prior to that loss to the Spireites, though, Doncaster had enjoyed five successive victories across all competitions.

Crystal Palace, after a top-half finish under Oliver Glasner last season, started this season slowly but have steadily improved as the season has gone on. The Eagles most recently defeated Manchester United by two goals to nil at Old Trafford last weekend thanks to a Jean-Philippe Mateta second-half brace to make it three victories in four games.

Doncaster will likely prioritise league football for the remainder of the campaign but in a one-off game against Premier League opposition, they will remain strong here. Palace, though, are a very good side moving their way up the top-flight table and are firm favourites for this one.

Doncaster vs Crystal Palace Tip: Crystal Palace to win -1 handicap
