Dom Taylor was originally slated to be making his PDC World Darts Championship debut last year, but a positive drugs test prevented his participation.
His appearance completes something of a redemption arc for the 27-year-old, who featured in every single Players Championship event in 2025, notably reaching two semi-finals in the early part of the year.
The world number 65 faces a fellow debutant in the form of Oskar Lukasiak, who qualified for Ally Pally on account of his efforts on the PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour.
A three-time World Cup of Darts participant, twice reaching the quarter-finals, Lukasiak will be looking to draw upon those experiences. The Swede could definitely nick at least a set, but Taylor has played to a higher standard this year and should prevail.
