Djurgarden vs Pafos Prediction
In the first-leg of this UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16 tie, Cypriot league leaders defeated Djurgarden by a goal to nil at the Alphamega Stadium last week, courtesy of a 65th minute strike from Marko Tankovic.
Djurgarden reached the Round of 16 of this competition a couple of seasons ago and were, once upon a time, European Cup quarter-finalists way back in the 1955/56 season. The Swedes were taken over by former Finland assistant coach Jani Honkovaara as they seek improvement in the 2025 Allsvenkan season, following a fourth placed finish domestically last year.
Pafos have a squad that has a fair bit of pedigree within it following recent investment in the last half a decade or so. The Cypriots sit at the top-of-the-table domestically, just a point clear of Aris Limassol, but they were most recently held to a goalless draw by an average Ethnikos Achna at home at the weekend.
Djurgarden are lacking cohesion due to a lack of competitive football, whilst Pafos have been naturally low-scoring so another match decided by fine margins is to be expected in Sweden.
