Dirk van Duijvenbode vs Andy Baetens prediction
Dirk van Duijvenbode gets his PDC World Championships campaign under way and the Dutchman will be hoping to find some form at Ally Pally.
The 33-year-old was a quarter-finalist back in 2021 before he lost to Gary Anderson and he has enjoyed some performances in the tournament over the years.
His form has dipped a little in 2025 so he will find himself under some pressure but he is still the world number 29 and will be hoping to make that count as he gets underway against Andy Baertens.
Baertens, nicknamed ‘The Beast from the East’, is a former WDF world champion and reached Ally Pally by being a Netherlands & Belgium Qualifier.
The Belgian will have that added motivation to beat the Dutchman on his debut in the tournament and he can take heart from the fact he has beaten him before in the 2020 Dutch Open.
It is hard to see that happening here even though Van Duijvenbode is not in great form, but we expect Baertens to grab a set even if he does get beaten.
Dirk van Duijvenbode vs Andy Baetens tip: Dirk van Duijvenbode to win and over 3.5 total sets
