Two-time major winner Dimitri Van den Bergh has had something of a turbulent year, taking a two-month enforced break starting in April which has caused him to miss several televised events.
Having not played an official match since the end of October, little is known about the Belgian's current form but he has made the semi-finals at Alexandra Palace before, and the quarter-finals on two further occasions.
Van den Bergh faces an Ally Pally debutant in the form of Darren Beveridge, with the Scot qualifying on account of his ProTour ranking.
This is very much new territory for Beveridge. Some bookies are even making him favourite here, but despite the fact he is likely to be a little rusty, we're backing former world number five Van den Bergh to show his class.
