Derby County could do with a win and the same can be said for Middlesbrough, who have hit a rough patch of form just at the wrong time ahead of 2026.

Derby vs Middlesbrough prediction

After a tough start to the season, Derby County had improved of late with the Rams sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table after a frustrating run of form, which continued with a 2-1 loss to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in an east midlands derby on Monday evening.

Middlesbrough, following the appointment of Kim Hellberg, who replaced Rob Edwards in November, have collected just one point from three matches after beginning the Hellberg era with four successive wins. The Smoggies were beaten 1-0 by Hull City at the Riverside Stadium the other day.

Middlesbrough are lacking fluency and haven’t been convincing throughout the Hellberg era and a low-scoring encounter seems very likely for this one at Pride Park.

Derby vs Middlesbrough tip: Under 2.5 goals
