Derby vs Coventry prediction
On the opening day of the campaign, Derby County took the lead very much against the run of play at the Bet365 Stadium against Stoke City, with Carlton Morris putting the Rams ahead, before the Potters ran out as 3-1 winners with two stoppage-time goals. They defeated West Bromwich Albion on penalties in the cup the other day.
Coventry City, on the other hand, managed to win inside 90 minutes with Ellis Simms scoring the only goal of the game in the 57th minute against Luton Town at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The Sky Blues began their 2025/26 Championship season with a goalless draw against Hull City at home last weekend.
It is a bit of a derby, albeit that is pushing it, between two sides seemingly focused on control and defence at the moment, so it may not be a thriller for the neutral at Pride Park.
