Daryl Gurney vs Callan Rydz prediction
Despite Daryl Gurney's three-dart average and checkout percentage being inferior to that of Beau Greaves, the World Cup champion still managed to overcome the three-time women's world champion 3-2 i the first round.
It was no surprise to see the Northern Irishman progress though, as he feels very much at home on the Alexandra Palace stage. A two-time quarter-finalist at this event, he will back himself to progress here.
Callan Rydz made more serene progress in the first round, although he was rarely tested by Patrik Kovacs in what was a 3-0 victory for the two-time Ally Pally quarter-finalist.
Only needing to average 88.39, Rydz has certainly produced better performances in this event and he will likely need to raise his game against Gurney.
Neither are playing their best darts at the moment, and you could easily see this going all the way with both players potentially missing plenty of doubles.
Daryl Gurney vs Callan Rydz tip: Over 4.5 sets
