Czechia vs Finland prediction

After being struck down by norovirus which led to their first match being postponed, Finland were able to fulfil their second group stage fixture against USA and their undercooked squad were unsurprisingly beaten heavily by one of the gold medal favourites. The time on the ice will have done them good but it cannot be underestimated how difficult it must have been recently for these Finnish players, who have had to contend with illness and their tournament plans being thrown out of the window.

Czechia were slightly disappointing to begin the tournament, losing 5-1 to an admittedly excellent USA, but improved significantly against Switzerland, falling short in a shootout following a 3-3 draw after overtime. It does bode well for them moving forward how this Czechia squad seem to be growing in confidence and when you also factor in Finland’s disruption, backing Czechia warrants serious consideration.
