It was a predictably tense and nervy, low-scoring first-leg of this CONCACAF Champions Cup semi-final between Tigres UANL and Cruz Azul last week as they seek continental glory.

Cruz Azul vs Tigres UANL prediction

In the first-leg between these two sides at Estadio Universitario in San Nicolas de los Garza last week, Cruz Azul took a 68th minute lead via Carlos Rotondi before Tigres managed to get themselves an equaliser in the 84th minute scored by defender Juanjo Purata.

Cruz Azul, coached by former Uruguay international Vicente Sanchez, came through a tough and hard-fought quarter-final, defeating Club America by two goals to one at home after a goalless first-leg against America. Tigres, on the other hand, also shared a goalless draw with Los Angeles Galaxy in the first-leg of their quarter-final before an entertaining 3-2 win in the second-leg.

If that pattern was to continue between these two evenly matched Liga MX sides then we should have a more open affair in this second-leg whereby both teams scoring looks a good bet.

Cruz Azul vs Tigres UANL tip: Both teams to score
