Since then, Crewe Alexandra have moped around, but the Railwaymen have started this season well with Lee Bell still in charge at Gresty Road. The Cheshire outfit come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Stockport County in the cup after back-to-back victories to kick off their league campaign against Salford City and Accrington Stanley.
Crawley Town have often defied the underlying data with Scott Lindsey at the helm, and there is always a danger that they will then regress to the mean. The Red Devils, relegated from League One last season, started with a 3-0 loss to Grimsby Town before then being beaten 2-1 by what appears to be a poor Newport County side last weekend.
Crawley look to be in a bit of a mess this season, and Crewe will be aiming and favoured to get some revenge this weekend, especially with their home advantage.
