Cremonese preview: Struggling Cremonese

Inspired by Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy, Cremonese began this season well following their promotion back to Serie A last year. However, so-called ‘miracle worker’ Davide Nicola may now soon need to show his powers as Cremonese drift back towards the bottom three and the relegation places.

The home team most recently suffered a slender 1-0 defeat away to Sassuolo as a result of an early Alieu Fadera strike. That goal means that the home team are now winless in their last eight matches, remarkably failing to score in seven of those eight games, too.

Inter Milan preview: League leading Inter

Internazionale come into this one on the back of comfortably defeating Borussia Dortmund by two goals to nil in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, courtesy of goals scored by Federico Dimarco and Ange-Yoan Bonny. It was a much-needed win against a so-called ‘big’ team.

It didn’t leave them in the top eight of the UEFA Champions League but should have given the Nerazzurri, and manager Cristian Chivu, a lot of confidence as they seek to emulate previous Inter side of the recent past, who were beaten finalists in both the 2022/23 and 2024/25 European campaigns.

Cremonese team news: Barbieri suspended

Cremonese are without midfielder Tommaso Barbieri due to suspension, while Michele Collocolo is the only confirmed injury absentee amid plenty of injury doubts.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Audero; Terracciano, Baschirotto, Bianchetti; Floriani Mussolini, Grassi, Folino, Vandeputte, Pezzella; Bonazzoli, Vardy

Unavailable: Barbieri (Suspended), Collocolo (Injured)

Questionable: Bondo (Injured), Payero (Injured), Tonny Sanabria (Injured), Moumbagna (Injured)

Inter Milan team news: Barella a doubt

Nicolo Barella is a doubt for Inter this weekend, while key wing-back Denzel Dumfries and experienced Turkey international midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu are confirmed absentees.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Sucic, Zielinski, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Bonny

Unavailable: Dumfries (Injured), Calhanoglu (Injured)

Questionable: Barella (Injured)

Cremonese vs Inter Milan prediction

In Serie A, the problem of failing to beat ‘bigger’ sides has been an issue for Inter. However, they simply wipe the floor with the rest and that is why they currently sit clear at the top-of-the-table. Cremonese may have posed more of a threat in the autumn but they are currently spiralling at the moment and a comfortable away win is to be expected for this one.
