Cremonese preview: Newly-promoted Cremonese

Following promotion to Serie A last season, Cremonese managed to win their opening two matches of the 2025/26 campaign but they have since underwhelmed again with four draws and a defeat since then.

The home team come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with perennially mid-table Udinese side in their most recent outing last weekend, having taken a fourth minute lead via Filippo Terracciano before Nicolo Zaniolo then equalised in the second-half.

Atalanta preview: Frustrated Bergamasci

Last season, Ivan Juric oversaw Southampton’s humiliating relegation from the Premier League and then somehow managed to get the job to replace Roma-bound Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta.

The Bergamasci remain unbeaten after seven Serie A matches but, in typical Juric fashion, they have been too conservative with just two victories in their nine matches across all competitions.

Cremonese team news: Key doubts

Experienced goalkeeper Emil Audero is a key doubt for Cremonese this weekend, alongside former Olympique de Marseille striker Faris Moumbagna.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Silvestri; Terracciano, Baschirotto, Bianchetti; Zerbin, Vandeputte, Bondo, Payero, Pezzella; Bonazzoli, Vardy

Unavailable: Collocolo (Injured)

Questionable: Audero (Injured), Moumbagna (Injured)

Atalanta team news: A few issues

Atalanta have a few injury issues for this one as both Giorgio Scalvini and Mitchel Bakker are both sidelined, whilst Bosnia-Herzegovina international Sead Kolasinac is a doubt.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Djimsiti, Hien, Ahanor; Zappacosta, Pasalic, Ederson, Bernasconi; De Ketelaere, Sulemana; Lookman

Unavailable: Scalvini (Injured), Bakker (Injured)

Questionable: Kolasinac (Injured)

Cremonese vs Atalanta prediction

Cremonese have regressed into playing their defensive style of football, which will likely be preferred throughout the campaign under the management of Davide Nicola, opting to deploy Jamie Vardy as a counter-attacking force. Ivan Juric known for being too conservative in his desire for control and they head into this one on the back of back-to-back goalless draws with yet another low-scoring encounter to be expected in Cremona this weekend.

Cremonese vs Atalanta tip: Under 2.5 goals
