Crawley vs Newport prediction

Crawley Town were relegated from League One last year after their surprise promotion to the third-tier in 2024. The Red Devils lost pretty much all of their promotion-winning squad last year, as well as manager Scott Lindsey, but Lindsey has since returned alongside a few other members of that squad.

They were hammered 3-0 by Grimsby Town on the opening day as they now face a Huw Jenkins-owned Newport County side that are widely tipped up to struggle this year, but the Exiles have begun reasonably steadily with a penalty shootout defeat of Barnet in the EFL Cup before a 1-1 draw with Notts County at Rodney Parade last weekend.

Newport will be surprisingly buoyant after their opening couple of matches, whilst Crawley are under pressure to put a performance in so it might be quite a good watch for the neutral.

Crawley vs Newport tip: Both teams to score
