Stoke City vs Coventry City prediction

Mark Robins faces old club Coventry with the stakes incredibly high. His Stoke City side are sat in second-place, just four points behind the table topping Sky Blues after winning their last three Championship games. Coventry have been pace-setters all season long with Robins’ replacement Frank Lampard having done a fantastic job.

You’d expect Coventry to push hard for the win here despite being on the road, but in the back of their minds will be not wanting to give Stoke any opportunity to close that four-point-gap. This may well lead to a slightly more conservative playstyle deployed by Lampard, whilst Stoke would likely be happy to match Coventry and ensure they don’t lose ground on the leaders. With that in mind, it’s worth backing a low-scoring match with under 2.5 goals.

Stoke City vs Coventry City tip: Under 2.5 goals
