Both Senegal and Nigeria are located in Group D alongside Congo and Sudan, making this a crucial encounter for those latter two. Neither of these two nations progressed out of the group stage in 2022, so that will clearly be the goal for both this year, to show their development over the past couple of years.

However, this is likely to prove a close contest, with neither team expected to take too many risks offensively that could see them caught out at the other end of the pitch.
