Como Preview: Cesc’s Como
Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Como have been impressive and entertaining throughout the campaign. Cesc Fabregas has had a squad that has been invested in well as they try and push into the top-half of the Serie A table this season.
The home team come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Parma at the Ennio Tardini in Emilio-Romagna thanks to a winning goal scored by Brazilian attacker Gabriel Strefezza to make it five successive victories for Cesc Fabregas’ side.
Cagliari Preview: Sardinian struggles
In the summer, Cagliari appointed Serie A’s so-called miracle worker Davide Nicola to take charge of a full season, which is an unusual occurrence for the Italian but he has managed to steer the Sardinians clear of the bottom three and the relegation places.
However, the visitors do come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to a previously struggling and out of form Udinese side at the Sardegna Arena last weekend to mean they have now managed just two victories in their last 11 games in Serie A.
Como Team News: Key absentees
Ahead of the visit of Cagliari this weekend, Como are dealing with a few key absentees. Assane Diao has been sensational since joining in the winter transfer window but the former Real Betis attacker is now sidelined alongside former Barcelona utility man Sergi Roberto.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Butez; Vojvoda, Goldaniga, Kempf, Alberto Moreno; Engelhardt, Maximo Perrone; Nico Paz, Caqueret, Ikone; Cutrone
Unavailable: Dossena (Injured), Sergi Roberto (Injured), Diao (Injured)
Questionable: Da Cunha (Injured)
Cagliari Team News: Still no Yerry Mina
Cagliari have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for this one so they will be able to name an unchanged eleven for this one. They will remain without former Everton and Colombia international centre-back Yerry Mina.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Caprile; Zappa, Palomino, Luperto; Zortea, Adopo, Makoumbou, Marin, Augello; Zito Luvumbo, Piccoli
Unavailable: Yerry Mina (Injured)

Como vs Cagliari Prediction
Como have been thrilling to watch and Cesc Fabregas’ side have now sustained a run of form to suggest they are a serious outfit ahead of another summer where they will likely spend quite a bit. Cagliari have already wrapped up their Serie A status for next season so have basically been ‘on the beach’ as the cliché goes for the last couple of months. Siding with Como therefore, especially with their home advantage, would appear the way to go for this one.
