Cologne started the season well but their form has dipped as they slip into the bottom-half of the table as they take on a struggling Mainz side at the RheinEnergie Stadion.

Cologne vs Mainz prediction

Cologne come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Bayern Munich in their most recent outing in a game in which they took a 41st minute lead. The home team are now winless in their last 12 matches across all competitions after what was a strong start, following their promotion to the top-flight last season.

Mainz begin the 18th match day of the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign sitting third from bottom and in the relegation playoff places but they will hope to have turned a corner with their second win of the season the other day, defeating fellow strugglers Heidenheim by two goals to one.

Mainz head to Cologne knowing that they have majorly underperformed this season but potentially confidence that they should turn things around so siding with the visitors would appear the way to go for this one.

Cologne vs Mainz tip: Double chance – Mainz to win or draw
