Club Brugge preview: Outside the top 24

Club Brugge have given themselves a chance of squeezing into the top 24 as a result of hammering Kazakh champions Kairat Almaty by four goals to one last week, courtesy of goals from Alexandar Stankovic, Hans Vanaken, Romeo Vermant and Brandon Mechele.

That means that the Belgians are hovering just a point outside of the top 24, under the management of Ivan Leko. They backed that up with another entertaining performance as they defeated Zulte-Waregem by four goals to three at the weekend.

Marseille preview: Entertaining Marseille

Roberto De Zerbi and his Olympique de Marseille side have been entertaining throughout the campaign and it continued within the last week as l’OM recovered from a 3-0 defeat at home to Liverpool last week.

Marseille then managed to ease past then league leaders Lens by three goals to one at Stade Velodrome at the weekend, courtesy of a brace scored by Amine Gouiri as well as one from Arsenal loanee Ethan Nwaneri.

Club Brugge team news: Tzolis out

Key man Greece international attacker Christos Tzolis is unavailable until early-January, while new signing Felix Lemarechal is ineligible to play in the league phase.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Jackers; Sabbe, Ordonez, Mechele; Forbs, Stankovic, Vetlesen, Seys; Vanaken, Diakhon; Vermant

Unavailable: Van Den Heuvel (Injured), Audoor (Injured), Lemarechal (Ineligible), Tzolis (Injured)

Questionable:

Marseille team news: Pavard suspended

Experienced France international defender Benjamin Pavard is missing through suspension for this one, while Emerson Palmieri remains sidelined through injury.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Rulli; Murillo, Egan-Riley, Balerdi, Medina; Weah, Hojbjerg, Gomes, Traore; Gouiri, Greenwood

Unavailable: Pavard (Suspended), Emerson (Injured), Garcia (Ineligible), Timber (Ineligible), Nwaneri (Ineligible), Harit (Ineligible), Maupay (Ineligible)

Questionable: Kondogbia (Injured), Nadir (Injured)

Club Brugge vs Marseille prediction

Club Brugge have been very entertaining to watch for the last couple of months and 29 goals coming in their seven games would again suggest they are one of the better teams to indulge in for the neutral. The same can very much be said for Jekyll and Hyde Marseille. The visitors will fall behind Club Brugge if the Belgians win and this has the potential to be a really dramatic and fun encounter at the Jan Breydel Stadion.

Club Brugge vs Marseille Tip: Over 2.5 goals
