Chelsea vs Liverpool prediction

After a fairly promising start to the season, Chelsea are now winless in their last three Premier League games, and have lost their last two, with the latest a 1-3 defeat at home to Brighton last weekend.

Enzo Maresca's injury-hit side did bounce back in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday though, recording a 1-0 victory over Portuguese giants Benfica.

Liverpool are suffering a rare blip under Arne Slot at the moment, with their first Premier League defeat of the season (2-1 to Crystal Palace) accompanied by a 1-0 loss at Galatasaray in Europe on Tuesday.

Aside from a 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge in May, when an under-strength side who had already won the title took to the pitch, Liverpool have a superb recent record in this fixture with that defeat the only one of the last 11 meetings between the two sides that they have lost.

After a chastening week, we're expecting Liverpool to refocus here and claim the victory against a Chelsea side who are missing some key players.
