CFR Cluj vs Lugano prediction

The first-leg of this UEFA Europa League second qualifying round tie at the Stockhorn Arena in Lugano last week, CFR Cluj and Lugano played out an evenly matched and fairly dull goalless draw.

Coached by former Chelsea defender Dan Petrescu, CFR Cluj come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss at home to Arges Pitesti domestically as they pour their focus into UEFA competition this summer. Lugano, on the other hand, began their 2025/26 Swiss Super League campaign with an underwhelming 2-1 defeat at home to FC Thun at the weekend.

Lugano will be expected to improve upon their last couple of performances but, with home advantage, CFR Cluj would have to be viewed as slight favourites for this second-leg.

CFR Cluj vs Lugano tip: Double chance – CFR Cluj to win or draw
