How to watch on TV: UK – TNT Sports / US – Not televised

How to watch online: UK – discovery+ / US – Paramount+

Key stats

  • The only previous UEFA meetings between the two clubs came in the qualifying play-off round of the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League. Utrecht overturned a 2-0 first-leg defeat in Glasgow with a 4-0 victory at home, winning the tie 4-2 on aggregate. Those matches are Utrecht’s only previous UEFA encounters with Scottish opposition.
  • Celtic have won four of their last five UEFA matches at home against Dutch teams (L1).
  • Celtic have won only two of their last 12 UEFA competition matches (D5 L5).
  • Celtic are unbeaten in their last five competitive matches (W3 D2).
  • Utrecht are winless in their last eight UEFA competition matches (D2 L6).
  • Utrecht have lost their last five competitive matches.

Celtic vs Utrecht prediction

Martin O’Neill, back in charge for a second time in what has been a chaotic season, has improved Celtic but their form has been focused on ensuring they chase down Hearts in the Scottish Premiership. They have collected just eight points from seven European matches and are the team that sit in the precarious position of 24th.

FC Utrecht perhaps overperformed to reach the league phase of the competition and they have struggled with just one point collected from their seven matches. The Dutch outfit most recently suffered a slender 1-0 defeat at home to Sparta Rotterdam as they sit in the bottom-half of the Eredivisie table.

Celtic are perhaps fortunate with the fact that they have struggled through this campaign but are firm favourites to win on the final day against poor opposition.

Celtic vs Utrecht tip: Celtic to win -1 handicap
