Key stats

  • This is the first UEFA competition match between these teams.
  • Celtic have won only two of their previous 12 UEFA competition matches against Austrian teams (D3 L7).
  • Celtic are without a win in their last seven UEFA competition matches (D4 L3).
  • Sturm Graz have won three of their last four UEFA matches against Scottish teams (L1), including their 2-1 victory at home against Rangers on Matchday 2 of the 2025/26 Europa League.
  • Sturm Graz have won only two of their last 19 UEFA matches away from home (D3 L14). They have lost six in a row.

Celtic vs Sturm Graz prediction

Celtic’s underperformed has perhaps been overshadowed by the crisis that arch-rivals Rangers find themselves in. The Bhoys come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Dundee at the weekend with the Celts having collected just a point from two UEFA Europa League matches against Red Star Belgrade and then Braga.

Sturm Graz come into this one on the back of a thrilling 4-3 victory over Blau-Weiss Linz in the Austrian Bundesliga at the weekend as they sit at the top-of-the-table domestically. They actually defeated the aforementioned Rangers in their most recent outing in this competition last week.

With their home advantage, Celtic will be confident but there is no other reason to be and siding with the Austrians may well be a good value bet for this one at Celtic Park.

Celtic vs Sturm Graz tip: Double chance – Sturm Graz to win or draw
