Celta Vigo vs Atletico Madrid prediction

Celta Vigo have so far been nowhere near the standards they set last season, when they finished seventh in La Liga and qualified for the UEFA Europa League. Indeed, they currently have the unwanted record of being the only team in La Liga yet to win a game this season, with five draws and two defeats from their seven contests.

There was at least some respite from their domestic woes midweek when they defeated PAOK 3-1 in the Europa League, but manager Claudio Giraldez will be impressing upon his squad the need to improve their footing in the La Liga standings.

That may not happen this weekend though, as they run into an Atletico Madrid side who are on a bit of a tear at the moment. It was a middling start to the season for Diego Simeone's men, but they are now riding a three-game winning streak in all competitions have scored ten goals in the past week; 5-2 against city rivals Real Madrid and 5-1 against German outfit Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League.

The visitors are free-scoring at the moment and should be good value to score at least a couple here against struggling Celta Vigo.
