Celje vs AEK Athens prediction

Under the management of former Liverpool winger Albert Riera, Celje reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season before eventually beaten by Italian giants and previous two-time finalists Fiorentina.

They now face an AEK Athens side that, coached by Marko Nikolic, finished fourth in the Greek Super League last season but they have been able to add some big names over the summer, such as former Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic.

AEK Athens will believe they can be a threat on the counter, but Riera’s impressive style of football makes Celje themselves a consistent threat, too, especially in Slovenia.
