Cardiff City have had a mixed return to League One, but they remain an exciting team, as the Bluebirds now welcome Rotherham United down to the Welsh capital this weekend.

Cardiff vs Rotherham prediction

Brian Barry-Murphy has been appointed at a very young Cardiff City side that have made just one signing so far this summer with the addition of Nathan Trott on loan from Velje. The Bluebirds come into this one having come from behind to defeat Peterborough United before a goalless draw in a low quality game at Vale Park against Port Vale.

Rotherham United, now under the management of Paul Warne’s former assistant Matt Hamshaw, began their campaign with a 2-1 defeat of Port Vale at the New York Stadium before then suffering a slender 1-0 loss to Stevenage. Since then, they have defeated Salford City on penalties in the first round of the EFL Cup.

Rotherham will make things difficult for a Cardiff side trying to play an extreme, possession-based style of football and that could lead to quite a stale encounter.

Cardiff vs Rotherham tip: Under 2.5 goals
