Canada vs Mexico Prediction

Alongside the aforementioned United States, neither Canada or Mexico are playing competitive football outside of the CONCACAF Nations League during this international cycle as they have already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as co-hosts.

Former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has done an impressive job in charge of a Canadian squad that is continuing to grow in terms of its pedigree as they reached the semi-finals of last summer’s CONMEBOL Copa America in the US. The Canadians defeated Suriname by four goals to nil on aggregate in the quarter-finals of this competition in November.

Mexico, on the other hand, have not been as impressive and are trending in the opposite direction to their upcoming opponents. They are now coached by former Real Mallorca boss Javier Aguirre, though, and are likely to become very difficult to beat and play against generally. El Tri came from 2-0 down to beat Honduras by four goals to two on aggregate in the quarters.

Canada play an intense style that squeezes room for both sides, whilst Mexico are expected to become a defensive side under Javier Aguirre so this could be a game of fine margins.

Canada vs Mexico Tip: Under 3.5 goals
