There is real optimism in the Canada camp regarding their chances of going all the way in the Women’s World Cup, and as the number two-ranked nation in the world, there is plenty of expectation on them from fans and media, too.

Ever-presents at the World Cup, Canada’s best showing is a second-placed finish in 2014, while they made the semi-finals in the 2021 event.

Fiji, making their second appearance at the World Cup after a pool stage exit three years ago, are huge underdogs here against one of the top nations in the world, and their realistic hopes will lie in keeping the score respectable.
