Canada vs Czechia prediction

The last time these two nations collided was back in the preliminary round with Canada dispatching Czechia by four goals to nil in Group A. Since that result though, the Czechs have beaten France before losing in overtime to Switzerland. But they bounced back admirably from such a setback, edging past Denmark 3-2 in a well matching qualification play-off which saw all five goals scored in the second period.

It was impressive how Czechia managed to shut that game down in the third period having established a lead. However, Canada are an opponent with far more offensive class with players of a much higher ability on the ice. They’ve logged 20 goals already, conceding just three and boast two of the top three point-scorers across the competition so far in Connor McDavid and Macklin Celebrini.

It would be a surprise if the likes of those two superstars, along with Nathan MacKinnon and Brad Marchant aren’t afforded success from an attacking perspective here, with MacKinnon scoring against Czechia in their Group A contest and Marchant expected to return to action following a two-match layoff. In the end, expect a locked-in Canada to record a comprehensive victory by at least three clear goals.

Canada vs Czechia tip: Canada to win with -2.5 handicap
