Scotland’s Cameron Menzies has had a really positive 2025 and he will be looking for a much improved display at the PDC World Darts Championships this time around after suffering a shock defeat last year.
He was incredibly disappointed to lose at the hands of Leonard Gates 12 months ago but he made the choice to quit his job and focus 100% of his time on darts in May this year, and that decision as paid dividends.
Menzies has achieved some of his best finishes and several of the major tournaments this year and he will be desperate to put on a good showing at Ally Pally this time around.
He will meet newcomer Charlie Manby who makes his debut in the tournaments at just 20 years of age.
Champagne Charlie as he is known, is a PDC Development Tour Qualifier, and has made quite an impact this year. This is unquestionably the biggest moment of his relatively short career and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.
Menzies has been known to question himself at times and that does not bode well when he is a favourite. Manby will be keen to put him under pressure early and it would be no surprise if last year’s loss is in Menzies’ mind. We fancy Manby to win at least one sets but Menzies should get the win.
