After a poor start to the campaign, Cagliari supporters protested manager Davide Nicola but they did enjoy a much-needed improvement. However, they are struggling once again as they prepare to welcome fellow relegation battlers Lecce to Sardinia.

Cagliari Team News: Yerry Mina injury

Colombia international centre-back and former Everton man Yerry Mina returned from injury recently after a long-term absence but he has picked up another ankle issue for this week.

The Sardinians are dealing with a couple of other key injury concerns with both of those issues coming in attack such as Kingstone Mutandwa and Angola international Zito Luvumbo.

Unavailable: Yerry Mina (Injured), Mutandwa (Injured), Luvumbo (Injured)

Lecce Team News: Several injuries

Lecce have had just five goal scorers in Serie A so far this season and the visitors are dealing with a small squad that is also under pressure due to several injuries across the pitch.

Defenders Kialonda Gaspar and Andy Pelmard remain sidelined alongside the likes of Joan Gonzalez and Hamza Rafia as well as attacker Lameck Banda this weekend.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Falcone; Guilbert, Baschirotto, Jean, Dorgu; Helgason, Coulibaly, Pierret; Pierotti, Krstovic, Tete Morente

Unavailable: Gallo (Injured), Gaspar (Injured), Pelmard (Injured), Berisha (Injured), Joan Gonzalez (Injured), Rafia (Injured), Banda (Injured)

Cagliari vs Lecce Prediction

Davide Nicola was given the unusual job, for him, to try and build a side from the start of this season rather than be brought in towards the end of a campaign as the great escape artist. Cagliari come into this one on the back of collecting four points from their last two matches after an impressive 1-1 draw at San Siro against AC Milan last weekend. They now face a Lecce side that have managed to score just 14 goals in their 20 matches but they did manage a 3-1 defeat of Empoli last weekend. These are two strugglers that will be buoyed by recent weeks so both teams scoring would be good value – especially given the general lack of Lecce goals.

Cagliari vs Lecce Tip: Both teams to score
