Bulgaria vs Cyprus prediction

The Bulgarians come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat to the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin in March in a game in which Bulgaria took the lead before goals from Evan Ferguson and Adam Idah turned the game on its head for the Irish. That means the Bulgarians suffered a 4-2 aggregate loss in their promotion/relegation playoff.

Cyprus, on the other hand, come into this one on the back of beginning European qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a comfortable 2-0 defeat of San Marino in Nicosia during the March international break. However, that was backed up by a 2-1 loss to Bosnia-Herzegovina in their second qualifier in Sarajevo.

Bulgaria have been improving a bit in the last year or so, finishing second in their UEFA Nations League League C group in the autumn and they are slight favourites for this friendly in Plovdiv.

Bulgaria vs Cyprus tip: Bulgaria to win & under 3.5 goals
