Bristol City vs Charlton prediction

Having been hammered 6-0 on aggregate by Sheffield United in the Championship playoff semi-finals last season, Bristol City went to Bramall Lane on the opening day on this campaign and won by four goals to one. Liam Manning was poached by Norwich City over the summer and replaced by former Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber.

Charlton Athletic gained promotion back to the second-tier last season as the Addicks defeated Leyton Orient in the League One playoff final. Charlton have since built well on that with an impressive summer transfer window and Nathan Jones’ south Londoners began their campaign with a defeat of Watford at The Valley on the opening day.

Charlton will be extremely difficult to beat and play against this season, and Bristol City have shown signs of being excellent in transition, so this is likely to be low-scoring.

Bristol City vs Charlton tip: Under 2.5 goals
