Brest preview: Mid-table Brest
Eric Roy has achieved great things with Stade Brest during his tenure and even a mid-table finish is still punching above the financial weight of the club. They are doing so by playing quite an entertaining style of football, too, with little emphasis on ensuring they are defensively organised.
Brest do come into this one in fairly average form, though, with a 2-2 draw away to struggling Nice at the Allianz Riviera last weekend meaning that they have now managed just one win in their last six matches across all competitions since early-December.
Lorient preview: In-form Lorient
Lorient, following their promotion to the top-flight last season, started the campaign slowly but have certainly found their footing as they now push up towards the top seven or eight and the European spots in Ligue 1, with excellent running of the club off the pitch.
The visitors come into this one on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 defeat of Nantes last weekend, which has extended their current winning streak to five matches in both Ligue 1 as well as the Coupe de France.
Brest team news: Coulibaly a doubt
Former Borussia Dortmund centre-back Soumaila Coulibaly is a fresh issue for Brest to deal with for this weekend as he is now dealing with a thigh injury.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Coudert; Lala, Chardonnet, Guindo, Zogbe; Chotard, Tousart, Magnetti; Del Castillo, Ajorque, Lascary
Unavailable: Locko (Injured), Balde (Injured)
Questionable: Coulibaly (Injured)
Lorient team news: A few issues
Lorient are dealing with a few injury absentees for this one as defensive duo Abdoulaye Faye and Isaak Toure are sidelined alongside Bandiougou Fadiga this weekend.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Mvogo; Meite, Talbi, Igor Silva; Le Bris, Cadiou, Abergel, Kouassi; Makengo, Dermane; Dieng
Unavailable: Faye (Injured), Toure (Injured), Fadiga (Injured)
Questionable:
Brest vs Lorient prediction
Brest have been quite entertaining to watch throughout this campaign with their 20 games in the French top-flight having consisted of 59 goals. Lorient, on the other hand, are playing a very entertaining and fluent, progressive style of football themselves. As a result, both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one at Stade Francis-Le Ble.
