Brest vs Dunkerque Prediction

Eric Roy’s Brest reached the knockout playoff round of the UEFA Champions League after their shock third place finish last season but they were knocked out by PSG last week with a 10-0 aggregate loss ahead of the visit of Dunkerque this week.

Brest have now turned their attention to domestic commitments as they push themselves back towards the European spots in Ligue 1. The home team steadied themselves in the aftermath of that loss to PSG with a goalless draw against Strasbourg at the weekend meaning they have suffered just one defeat in nine matches in domestic competitions.

Dunkerque have enjoyed an impressive campaign with their 3-0 hammering of Clermont in Ligue 2 at the weekend keeping them in the top three in the second-tier. They have reached the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France with two top-flight victims, Auxerre and Lille, who they defeated on penalties at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the previous round.

Dunkerque have proven themselves capable of shutting down Ligue 1 teams this season and Brest may well find them difficult to break down, even if they remain favourites at home.

Brest vs Dunkerque Tip: Brest to win & under 3.5 goals
