Brentford Team News: Mee & Henry fit

In his press conference ahead of the visit of champions Manchester City, Brentford have confirmed they have no fresh injury concerns so will be able to name an unchanged eleven from their victory against Southampton about ten days ago.

Ben Mee and Rico Henry are both available for the Bees but the hosts do remain without the likes of Aaron Hickey, Josh Dasilva, Gustavo Nunes and club record summer signing Igor Thiago.

Man City Team News: Wantaway Walker

Pep Guardiola has said he will decide Kyle Walker's availability for this one based on training after the club captain reportedly asked to leave the club over the weekend amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

Aside from Walker's potential absence, City do not have any fresh reported injury concerns with defenders Ruben Dias and John Stones still sidelined alongside Ballon d'Or winner Rodri. Oscar Bobb has returned to training, too, after a long injury lay-off with the Norwegian building his fitness levels back up.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Ederson; Lewis, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Gundogan; Silva, De Bruyne, Savio; Haaland

Unavailable: Dias (Injured), Stones (Injured), Rodri (Injured)

Questionable: Bobb (Fitness)

Brentford vs Man City Prediction

Brentford have been impressive at home against weaker opposition but their 1-0 defeat at home to Championship side Plymouth Argyle thanks to a Morgan Whittaker winning in the second-half means Thomas Frank is coming under a bit of pressure as the Bees heavily rotated in that FA Cup third round tie as well as in the EFL Cup quarter-finals against Newcastle United at St James’ Park last month, despite the west Londoners sitting firmly in mid-table in the Premier League. Manchester City enjoyed back-to-back wins against Leicester City and West Ham United either side of the New Year before an 8-0 annihilation of League Two side Salford City in the cup at the weekend. City, with several deals on the go such as Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush, may not ‘be back’ but will be expected to capitalise on an out of form Brentford side.
